Design

The Company uses Radan and Tru-Tops cad-cam software.  We have three seats on the system and our designers have been well trained in the latest version of the program.  We are happy to develop designs from dimensioned drawings, sample products, or conversion of autocad dwg. or other dxf. presentations

 

Blanking and Punching

We have three CNC punch presses, a Trumpf T5000 with auto sheet feed, a Trumph 200R and a Trumph T600 L  with auto sheet-feed attachment.  In addition we have a selection of power presses from 6-20 Tonne, some with auto feed facility.

Laser Profiling

The Trumpf T600 L is a combination machine with lasering capacity to 6mm mild steel.  This facility is invaluable for prototyping of small quantity complex shapes.

 

Folding

Our press brakes range in size from one metre 10 tonne to three metre (two off) 100 Tonne and a Journs four metre bending machine.  All machines have programmable backstops.  In addition we have a SALVAGNINI panel-bender which gives us the ability to carry out complex folding jobs with high accuracy on repeatability.

 

Welding and Joining

All types of welding are catered for including spot, projection, and tig welding.  We also use metal-stitching tools extensively.  We have two hydraulic

Nut Insertion machines.

 

Powder-Coating

In-house powder-coating gives us the ability to put the finishing touch to products.

Our system caters for small products up to 750mm square.

 

Assembly and Packing

Protection of finished products is essential.  We not only have a selection of shrink-wrapping machines but we

manufacture our own corrugated cartons on a dedicated CNC machine that makes small batches of made to measure cartons.  We have good assembly capacity at Bluebell but also offer facilities at our sister company Excel Lighting in Galway.

 

Delivery

Delivery on-time and in full is a crucial element of our performance.  In addition to arrangements with long-standing trusted carriers we have a fleet of vans up to two tonne at our disposal.

 

Premises

Metalfast is located at Excel Works in Bluebell, Dublin 12.  This one acre site on the Western periphery of Dublin city is ideally situated for distribution to the city and all main trunk roads to the West and South of the country.  We now enjoy a direct link via the M50 to the North.  The premises has over 4,000 Sq. Metres of covered space.
